THE CONCLUSION
Greetings for the day!
Siddharth here,
I am very glad to announce ‘THE CONCLUSION’ of the very successful project ‘ABHYAS’, I always consider that it's you who has made the project so successful. So I owe you the success of this project. Thus, before I put an official end let me share some aspects which you should consider going forward.
Here are things that I would like to communicate
NEVER EVER FIGHT THE TREND📈
During the initial years of trading, I was very much influenced by those trades put on SM and YOUTUBE wherein the setup was showing the apt way of catching the top or the bottom. But when I tried to do the same I found that majority of my trades used to go in loss because always remember
‘The stock that is making a high can easily make a higher high and the stock that is making a low can easily make a lower low’
So after burning my hands and figuring out the mistakes I found that I could have easily made more money if I had just traded with the trend.
As it goes ‘TREND IS YOUR FRIEND UNTIL IT BENDS’
CUT YOUR LOSSES, STAY AWAY FROM THE HOPE GAME🕹
I am sure you must have also experienced this aspect. During the initial days of my trading career, I carried many stocks even when the stock went below the SL level just out of hope that the stock would give a bounce or a pullback and I would exit but trust me that bounce or pullback would never come as and when you need the most. So it’s always advisable to cut your losses as per plan and more importantly stay away from the hope game because even if do the best prayers then also the stock will do what it is supposed to do.
Just follow the plan and be a very disciplined student to implement the plan. I read it somewhere ‘plan is just a piece of paper until it is executed’. So don’t deviate and execute your decided plan.
FOCUS ON A FEW STRATEGIES, WORK ON IMPROVING YOUR EDGE🎯
There will be days or even months when your strategy will not show you profits or will give you losses. So in such situations what I used to do earlier is just keep on hopping from one method to another but then if you are serious about this profession then I would suggest just finding out a few of them and constantly working on improving your edge.
So what I currently have is a setup for INTRADAY — SHORT TERM in which I use ORDER BLOCKS, BULLISH BASE, BEARISH BASE, VWAP, etc, and a setup for trading SWING — POSITIONAL in which I use KEY MOVING AVERAGES, RELATIVE STRENGTH, SECTORAL PERFORMANCE, etc.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND FOLLOW THAT📚
Many of you will disagree on this but I am an avid believer of ‘end of the day’ work because from past experience I can say that my best trades have been those which were well—researched and well—planned. Trust me you can’t just pick up stock from thin air and trade it, if you are doing the same then I would simply urge you to get out of that habit and put effort into finding the best setups at the end of the day.
My normal routine is going through NIFTY 500 stocks and preparing my focus list for the next day. I have at least developed that much of market maturity that I only stick to those stocks which I have planned last night nothing more or less than that.
READ A LOT. YES! A LOT👓
I have been always fond of reading books maybe it of trading or investing and trust me that has helped me a lot to improve my edge because when an author is able to put his experience of years in just 300–400 pages then for sure it is worth paying attention to.
I would suggest you at least read the following books
a. Profit With the Market Profile: Identifying Market Value in Real-Time
b. Trading In the Shadow of the Smart Money: Volume 1
c. Stan Weinstein’s Secrets For Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets
d. The Perfect Speculator: How to Win Big in Up Markets and Lose Nothing in Down Markets
e. Understanding Price Action: Practical Analysis of the 5-Minute Time Frame
The amount of knowledge you will gain is enormous and yes if you are thinking about how much time you need to allocate for reading then let me share that I generally read on weekends. Don’t put yourself under a steel hand and read under pressure rather make the process of learning easy, effective, and more importantly enjoy it.
Don’t forget to take a good amount of notes from these books.
DON’T COMPARE, JUST BE AT YOUR PACE🚅
With this growing influence of social media where every day some or the other traders are putting millions — billions of profit, you should simply consider that as noise and pay attention to your process and follow it. Don’t compare yourself with others, aim for making those returns that are comfortable and happy with.
If you are going through a rough patch in your trading career then simply go back to the blank blackboard, find out what is going wrong, start writing out how can you improve, and start slow with a small position and then once you gain confidence then only pull the full trigger.
This is a profession where many distractions will come i.e. if I talk about myself I many times feel that I should trade only OPTIONS and make a HUGE amount of money but trust me my past results give me a clear indication that I know how to develop swing trades and I have been quite awful in trading OPTIONS. So even if I see someone making 100% or even 1000% returns by trading options then also I just concentrate on improving my SWING trades. Because I am happy with the pace I am going forward. So don’t put yourself under pressure just follow the pace that you are happy with.
That’s it from my side for ‘ABHYAS 1.0’ but remember that this end is really not the end it is the beginning
I hereby open the gates for ABHYAS 2.0 wherein I will discuss more of advanced concepts and that too for free. But now I need to give a little bit of time to myself and more time for developing my knowledge base so the frequency of articles will not be the same as ABHYAS 1.0. Thus, whenever a new article is posted in relation to ABHYAS 2.0 the same will be notified 👇
